Here are 12 things you should never do in a love relationship...ever!

#1: Never stop falling in love with your partner, over and over again!

Successful couples continually fall in love with each other. They find new reasons to be in love with their partner and they always try to find new ways to surprise each other, with little gifts, handwritten love notes, poems, and even a surprise visit to their partner’s job with a nice meal, snack, or treat. Busy couples can also arrange to have some time alone together, every now and then, away from home obligations, family and friends...they can call it a “date night.”

Be sure that you don't let the petty day-to-day things ruin the feelings of love between the two of you. Love doesn't have to die after commitment. In fact, it should grow to ever increasing heights, on a regular basis. So, feel free to fall in love all over again....and again...and again. Always keep the marriage or partnership exciting. In fact, you have to keep life exciting, in general, otherwise it will simply be a bunch of Tuesday’s strung-together!

#2: Never stop having fun together!

There are so many ways that a couple can have fun together, and they should keep inventing new and exciting ways to have fun together. The more fun they have, the more they will enjoy each other’s company, and this will strengthen the relationship even more.

They should be able to enjoy time doing fun things with one another, and they should also give each other a little space, then they can each occasionally have fun with some of their friends, and while apart they will miss one another, so that after she has a night out with the girls, and he comes home from being out with the boys...they will be ecstatic to see one another.

#3: Never value being right over being loving!

Too many of us want to be right more than we want to be loving. We choose winning an argument over continually winning the heart of our loved one...and this is a big mistake. When you always or sometimes feel that you just have to be right, you are simultaneously making your partner wrong.

Don't engage in these types of conversations. Instead, you should always value your partner's opinion and then perhaps offer your opinion to them, but do not “shove it down their throat.” They are both opinions, so one is not more or less correct than the other.

They are simply two different perspectives. If you continue to make your partner feel wrong, or feel bad about thinking what they are thinking, then they will stop offering their opinion to you. That doesn't lead to anything good in terms of a healthy relationship.

#4: Never stop planning together for a wonderful future!

You might be planning for the kid's college, or what to name the children, or maybe you are making plans for the next family vacation. It could be a matter of planning for your own retirement or for a friend's upcoming birthday party. The key is to always keep planning together for a future, which includes each other.

When you make these plans together, you are creating common goals, hopes, and dreams that you will pursue as a unit, as a team, as a couple. This will seriously strengthen the bonds of the marriage or partnership, as well as the “friendship,” and it will create more “mutual admiration.”

Find something that you are both interested in doing, and work on it together. You are either growing closer together or further apart. Planning together helps to keep you growing together.

#5: Never stop being attractive for your partner!

Too many couples actually stop doing the things that led to the relationship in the first place. How sad is that? If you figured that once you were in a committed relationship that you could simply stop engaging in attractive behaviors, you were mistaken. Plus, that is a lousy attitude to have. Each person in the partnership expected the other person to continue to do and say all those wonderful things that they found so attractive in the first place.

So, keep flirting with each other. Wear some clothes that your partner finds you flattering in, and that may even excite your partner. Remind your partner how attractive they are to you, everyone likes compliments. Be playful, be thoughtful, and be loving. Make yourself irresistible to your partner...ALWAYS... and allow them to return the favor.

#6: Never go to bed angry at each other!

Even when couples disagree about things, or when they get into a heated debate, they should never let the anger consume them, or cause them to say and do things that will hurt the relationship. Nor should they say or do things, in anger, that they will regret later. They should also never introduce any type of physical violence into the relationship...ever...and under any circumstances.

A couple can disagree about something, and discuss it in a calm and meaningful way, but when it comes time for bed, they should heed the advice given in the bible... “never let the sun go down on your wrath.” Long and successful marriages will often cite that they never went to bed mad at each other, when asked what the secret was to their longevity

#7: Never embarrass your partner in public or in front of anyone!

Remember this simple rule: Always praise publicly and criticize privately. Although, you really should never criticize your partner about anything, ever. When the need arises to tell your partner something difficult, always remember to do so in the most humble, loving, respectful and honest way possible...and always do it in private! Never in front of kids, or family members, or even friends.

In public, tell everyone about how fantastic your partner is. Talk positively about the things about them that you like and appreciate the best. Positive attention is a reward of sorts, and what gets rewarded gets repeated. Your partner trusts you with their heart and emotional security. Don't ever publicly criticize your partner, and certainly never behind their back!

#8: Never say "always" or "never" when arguing!

Whenever we say that our partner always does something or never does something, we are certainly exaggerating. The discussion then turns to how the partner being accused must defend themselves against this blatant attack. The conversation then turns to how you always or never do something. The whole thing is actually childish, but it will escalate!

Just avoid all of this nonsense. When you partner does something that you don't appreciate, just say so, right then and there, but do it quietly and without anger or extreme emotions. Always be respectful, yet be honest and gentle. Don't pull in past issues that have nothing to do with the topic. Always avoid saying the words "always" and "never" at all costs. Focus on the event or the issue at hand only. Work together to decide how it should be handled next time. Then move on.

#9: Never use or withhold intimacy as a weapon!

Do you ever grant intimacy or take it away as a method of persuading your spouse to do what you want? If so, you are cheapening a relationship expression of love by making it a tool of negotiation...Huge Mistake!

Eventually, your partner may not want to express intimacy towards you or receive it from you because of the conditions attached to it. There should never be conditions on expressions of love, sex, affection, et cetera.
Stop using intimacy as a weapon. This is your partner, the person you are supposed to love until “death do us part.”

Affection, Love, Sex, and Intimacy should always come with no strings attached. It is a beautiful and loving expression that should never be used to manipulate your partner in any way.

#10: Never speak negatively about your partner to others!

So, your partner does something that you do not like, or that angers you. You tell your friends about it. You put them down behind their back...shame on you! Later on, you and your partner determine it was a simple misunderstanding. When you come back around your friends with your partner, what is their impression?

Are they seeing your partner in a different light? Do they have a full understanding that there was simply a miscommunication between you? We are quick to tell everyone about the bad, and very slow to tell them about the good. Be very careful with this. You could be ruining your partner's reputation even as you know them to be a great person. Avoid talking negatively about your partner.

Also, some people think less of a person who badmouths their spouse, and it is an indication of being immature and without manners or class.

#11: Never break your commitments to one another!

Your commitment to monogamy is extremely crucial; so don't go looking outside of the marriage or relationship, for what you already have at home. If you say you are going to do something, then do that very thing when and how you promised it to be done.

Your word has a lot of value to it, and that value diminishes each and every time you don't honor your commitments or your word. So, honor yourself and your partner by honoring your commitments. Do what you said you would do, each and every time. Your partner will appreciate you more for it.

#12: Never stop nurturing the relationship!

Constantly look for new and exciting ways to assist your partner. Always listen with the intent to understand as they talk to you about things that are important to them. Be present for all of your partner's major life moments.

That includes any illness, any major victories or accomplishments, any crushing defeats, and any family events...good or not so good.

Go out on dates with each other. Vacation together. Treasure warm conversation over a hot meal. Express love to each other in the way your partner needs to receive it. Be supportive at all times. Remember that the one you love and gave your heart to, is worthy of the very best from you. Share a rainy afternoon in your pj’s watching old movies and drinking hot cocoa with whipped cream.

In closing:

If you are making any of these mistakes, start to make a more conscious effort to put an end to them immediately. You'll be pleased at how much stronger your relationship will be. There is always time to turn a situation around, and to turn your life around. If you have been slowly drifting away from your partner, and for no particular reason, maybe it is time to realize how important they are to you, and starthttp://rc--modellbau.blogspot.com/ acting like it, and begin treating them better than you have. It is never too late to become more loving, giving, caring, and so forth. You Can Do Anything That You Make Up Your Mind To Do!

you purchased a template for your auction or buy it now listing at ebay

First know that you did a very smart move.
A good looking sale page gives the buyers good impression on your product and increases the chance that they will buy it from you.
It shows that you are a serious seller and like to pay attention and invest time in your selling activity.
But what to do now? how to use it?

Here are simple instructions for using html graphic templates in your sale page:

1. Open the text file that the template's seller sent you. It's a file that its name ends with .txt and it usually open in Notepad.
Before you start working on it, I recommend you to save a copy of the file by clicking on "Save as" in the file menu and give it another name, so in case you're making mistakes and mess up things, you can go back to the original file.

2. Select all the text by clicking on ctrl+a keys or by choosing "select all" in the edit menu or by right click and select "select all". Copy the text by clicking ctrl+c keys, or by choosing "copy" in the edit menu or by right click and select "copy".

3. Now the fun begins!
Go to your selling page on ebay and paste the text into "Describe the item you're selling" box. Paste it into the HTML display.

4. Choose the standard display. You can write your text in the text lines, change text color, fonts and size.

5. How to add an image?
To add an image you have to save and publish it at a hosting website.
You can do it for free at:
www.photobucket.com
www.imageshack.us
www.tinypic.com
www.imagecave.com
and many more. If you have your own website or a blog you can publish the image there.
After publishing the image at the hosting site, right click on it and select "copy image url".
Go to the ebay selling page and choose again the HTML display. Paste the image url into the text that says: . Delete the word "yourphotourlhere" and insert your photo url address between the quotation marks (very important).

6. Go to the standard display and see if you like the appearance of the page. Click on preview to see well.
You can delete images, change fonts color, size, style and align to the left or to the center.

Hope I made it clear and simple to you!

I bought a HID light kit from Orangemika in December of 2011

It worked good until two months later when one of the ballast stopped working. I asked the seller about the warranty and they replied and said they will ship out another ballast. Two weeks later no sign of ballast. I emailed again and they asked for my ebay ID and address. Again I didn't receive anything. I wrote again and they stopped replying. I contacted ebay and paypal, but both said since the 60 days have passed, I can't open a case against the seller. I wished I researched on this seller before I made the purchase because others have similar experiences with this seller.

This is by far my favourite notebook. I've had over a dozen computers

I loathe mac. I have been looking at dells for over 2 years but always looked at one's outside of my financial range. This popped up and after seriously looking at them, got it. It works magnificently. I'm building my rig (which will take awhile to afford parts) but this has smoothly become my main computer. It's magnificent. It rocks. I love it. It took me forever to save up for it but it's marvelous. Runs smoothly. spacious hard drive (for a laptop). magnificent keyboard. Exquisite laptop. Easily (no hyperbole) the best laptop I have ever owned. I have had macs and others with screen size too small or too large or too heavy or not enough cpu speed. This 14R took me over a year of considering other designs/models/makes of asus and dell and saving up and finally got it. magnificent!

The Dell Latitude D630 exceeded all my expectations

I have purchased "off-lease" and "refurbished" laptops before, and they were usually disappointing, to say the least: some looked as if they'd been run over by a T-Rex driving a steamroller and performed minimally. Typically, they come with batteries that will not hold a 30-minute charge, so the immediate purchase of a new battery was required. None of these faults applies to the Dell Latitude D630 I received from this seller.

First of all, the price was exceptionally low for the quality of the machine, the size of the hard drive, and the amount of RAM it came with. The laptop arrived quickly, securely packaged, and I received my first pleasant surprise when I extricated it from the layers of bubble wrap: the computer looked brand new. Once I opened it, this impression was confirmed: there were none of the typical signs of wear on any of the most vulnerable places (palm rests, space bar, et al.) to indicate that this computer had been "rode hard and put away wet." The second pleasant surprise came when I fired up the computer: it booted quickly, came up with a clean, uncluttered screen, and functioned perfectly from the start. When I checked the battery's charge, it showed a full charge of over 3 hours, of which I was admittedly skeptical; as it turned out, I had no reason to be.

As I began to load the software I would be using most frequently, I found that the battery included did indeed have a long useful working life. The Latitude came with its original-equipment charger, which fully recharges the battery in less than two hours. I have now logged well over two months' constant work on this machine, and I have yet to experience any reason for complaint. I am tempted to buy another one just like it and store it away until I need it; however, by that time, Dell will probably be producing Latitudes that run on anti-matter cells, so I guess I'll wait. Meanwhile, I couldn't be happier with the D630.

Oh, what do I dislike about the product? There's nothing negative I could say about the Latitude D630 that I couldn't also say about any other laptop by any other manufacturer: it doesn't have a 50-inch screen; the keyboard is in a weird place, requiring the user to type at a weird angle; it doesn't come pre-installed with the American Film Institute's Top 100 movies; and so far, it hasn't guaranteed the sale of any of my screenplays. Other than that, it's everything a laptop computer should be.

What is vinyl and is it safe for the environment?

What is Vinyl?

Vinyl wall decals are not a natural substance but are a synthetic man-made material. It is a type of plastic that is made from ethylene (found in crude oil) and chlorine (found in regular salt). When processed, both the substances are combined to form Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) resin, or as is commonly referred to - Vinyl. Vinyl was first invented in 1920 by scientists who wanted to develop a material that would help to manufacture everyday products that were easier to make and more durable than what was available. Today, Vinyl has become the second largest manufactured and sold plastic resin in the entire world. Vinyl is a plastic material, which unlike other plastics, can easily be recycled. Because of the durability of vinyl, our wall decals have a long life span. Add to this the fact that the vinyl can then be recycled, translates into an even longer life of the vinyl plastic resin.

How eco-friendly are wall decals?

Vinyl is a very environment friendly material, not only because it can be recycled, but also for many other reasons. Vinyl helps in the preservation of environmental resources as 57% of vinyl is made from common salt, which is a renewable natural substance. Non-replenish able resources such as crude oil only account for 43% of vinyl resin, thus making it nature friendly. In comparison to various other materials used by the home decor industry, vinyl requires lesser amounts of natural resources to make, utilizes much lesser energy for manufacture, and also releases lower emissions into the environment. Thus vinyl wall decals, a synthetic manmade material, have truly revolutionized the entire home decor and wall art industry.

This computer is WELL worth ATLEAST 700 bucks still today

Is is possible that Apple got too cute for their new iMac 27" for Feb 2011 release? I think so. By alienated themselves even further from the rest of us so-called converters from PC's, Apple has managed to make it even harder to connect to their new iMac 27" by adding the new thunderbolt port in lieu of their old mini display port...which by the way, practically nothing connects to!

If you are looking for a complete conversion to Mac only and will never have to connect anything to it such as a playstation, Wii, XBOX360 or any other PC (unless they have a thunderbolt connection, LOL) then forget this and opt for an older model.

Don't get me wrong, the performance is lighting fast, the beautiful LED screen is amazing and the software bundle it comes with is impressive, but for the money I'd have to say that Dell, Lenovo and HP have it all over the iMac 27 2011.

If they offer a new model in 2012, I'd like to see them regress and add some additional connections like HDMI to make it easier for the rest of the world to connect to it.

TaylorMade Burner Plus Iron set Golf Club

Everyone seems to say Taylormade makes the best drivers. I think it's all about whether you have a good swing to come with your game. I own a burner and is also forgiving. The Speedline Fast 10 is also forgiving but it gives me more distance. So far I added 15-20 yds to my drive.

Apple is the way 2 go! Nice computer

first mac I've ever owned. This thing is a little monster!! runs apps no problem i do a lot of penny stocks. i like to check up on charts and statistic on companies i am investing on and i like to look at them all at once, i have about 6 displays in my home office to view them. My pc couldn't withstand the pressure of having all these browsers opened but the mac mini with the small amount of ram it has display no lack of performance. each browser i have up runs smooth with no hick ups or delays. best little machine for the price!!

I am 8 hcp index, swing a driver about 92 mph

Formerly used the Aldila NV65 regular flex shaft with Cleveland Comp Launcher, which was very accurate driver for me. I tried the Speedline Driver with the VooDoo reg flex shaft; it was way too stiff for my slow swing. So I went to the Fast Ten after a buddy said it was a very popular driver amongst better players at his club. Got it with regular flex WASABI shaft. It fits my swing much better than the VooDoo because it's not as stiff. This club is just as accurate as my Aldila NV65 but I do hit it quite a bit farther...I'd say about 10-20 yards farther on average drive. Partly this is because I hit this one a a little higher than the Aldila, so I am getting more carry. The feel of this club is great; even off center hits are pretty decent drives. I hit a fade most of the time and didn't have any problems controlling my fade with the WASABI shaft. Loft is 10.5 degrees. I can keep it low or I can hit it high. Sound is OK. Look is OK, with a lot of scientific mumbo jumbo on the sole which is worth a laugh. Overall I am delighted with the improvement that the Wasabi/Fast 10 combination has delivered, and I highly recommend this configuration for any golfer who is a straight hitter looking for more distance w/o sacrificing control.

Adams A7OS Irons

After playing/trying every make out there, I have found Adams game improvement irons to be the best. They are very forgiving but will also reward a good swing appropriately. If you are a hybrid fan like me, you'll especially appreciate hybrids for the 3-5 and semi-hybrids for the 6 and 7. They work well from any type of lie, bare to fluffy. Get the graphite shafts for the full benefit of the design. While you are at it, pick up a sand wedge as well - it makes sand shots too easy!

Callaway Big Bertha Diablo Fairway Wood Golf Club

Got The 3 Callaway Big Bertha Diablo Fairway Wood Golf Club
Stiff! Excellent club and great service from seller!! Would recommend it to anyone interested in getting a club online. Very responsible seller. Cant wait untill spring to start hitting it down the fairway. Diablo series has worked awesome for me and have improved my accuracy and distance. The fairway wood is a little less tall than my previous three wood but this makes it easier to hit the sweet spot when not using it from a tee. Cant beat this price I strongly encourage you to try this

I try and give excellent customer service

A friend came to me and asked me to sell something for him. I did and described the item very strictly. I don't like to give any buyers any surprises. So, a guy bought the the item. He is new to eBay. When he got the item, he complained that it was faded. It wasn't, when I sold it to him. I asked my friend, who I had sold it for, and he said to give the buyer his email address, and they would work it out. After all, I am just the middle man. I did this, and the buyer went ballistic. He said that he wouldn't deal with anyone but me. Consequently, I think he will leave negative feedback. How can I deal with this guy? After all, it is not my money that is in play here, since I was just the go between. This is why we sellers need to be able to give negative feedback to buyers. NEVER escalate a case as the seller. NEVER. That signals the ebay bots to close it in the favor of the buyer. Just tell him return for refund and that once you verify your seller's mark, you will refund. Period. If you get something other than what you shipped, come back here. We'll walk you through it.

How to apply Screen Protector for your Devices?

Tips for Applying the Screen Protector

  • First and foremost, follow your chosen screen protector's instructions. (You may find instruction video in our listing mostly)

  • Find a clean place for your project and give yourself some time for your project (at least 10 minutes of applying and reapplying the film). You don't want to be smoking or cleaning your chalkboard right above your tablet while doing this, obviously. I've previously seen advice about applying the screen protector in the bathroom after taking a bath because the steam in the air would prevent dust from settling between your tablet and the screen protector. In my experience, this is just not so (maybe I need to take steamier showers, however).

  • Clean your tablet or smartphone screen. use your own microfiber cloth to get your smartphone or tablet as clean as you can get it.

  • Align the protector at the top or bottom of your device (it doesn't really matter, but your instructions may have a preference), using the features on your device--the camera or home button--as a guide. Make sure both corners are level before pressing down.

  • ANY dusts = BUBBLES

  • Use a credit card or the card that came with your package to push bubbles out.

  • If there are giant bubbles, use a piece of tape to pull up one corner of the film and reapply it. Just make sure you don't touch the bottom of the sticky side of the film (otherwise you will be trapping little dust or particles permanently to the screen protector)!

RPG Lover

Games are the most epic arts of all times. In special, I love RPG genre, not just this, I believe that the best way to make a trip around your mind and get satisfaction with this, is playing a good RPG game.
I'm a collector, and through this site, I'm filling my colection with many rare and conserved itens.
I have a greater simpathy by Snes, but not only it, I love the old generation of the games as the new generation too, I believe that epic arts, epic titles, comes from the past and the present, the great trick is to know how to search and where to find the right titles and the great and notable series too. The same for the less popular, but that holds a great content, in the same proportion of the most popular titles.
And I can't go away without say about my love by Final Fantasy, in my opnion, one of the most important and beautiful things already invented.

How to Choose A Bill Counter

If you're shopping around for a bill counter, you probably want to get something that is going to help you get the job done for the best value possible. There are literally dozens of different bill counters out there, so what are the key features you should look for? Here are a few questions you may want to ask yourself combined with features you will probably find while shopping.

How many bills are you counting per day? Bill counters range in capabilities and capacities. Most entry level bill counters can handle 600-900 bills per minute. Mid-range bill counters can handle 900 to 1200 bills per minute and commercial "high" range counters can handle 1200+ bills per minute. Entry-level users may be kiosks, small clubs and small retailers. High-level users include banks and large businesses.

Where will you be using your bill counter? Some bill counters are designed for use on a desk or table and are not ideal for moving around. Other bill counters include built-in handles for added portability. If you plan on using your bill counter on the road, you may even want to consider a battery-powered unit.

Do you need counterfeit detection? While all money counting machines count bills, some include the value of a counterfeit detector. These detectors range from ultraviolet (UV) to magnetic (MG) scanning. Some include both, which are labeled as UV / MG. These types of bill counters scan bills on the fly and typically alert the user both audibly and visibly when a counterfeit bill is detected, typically stopping the machine. The UV sensor checks for a UV strip in a legitimate banknote and the MG sensor checks for the presence of magnetic ink. These counterfeit detection tools will catch the majority of counterfeit bills.

Do you need a total amount of bills or the value of the bills? Ninety-percent of the bill counters out there are designed to provide the operator with a total number of bills, not a total value. If you need the total number and the value of the bills, you will need what's known as a bill discriminator.

Do bill counters only handle US banknotes? Most bill counters can handle other country's bills as long as the bill's size fits within the bill counter's minimum and maximum specifications. Many people use bill counters to count coupons, tickets and other paper as well.

Common Bill Counter Features

Adding Mode – Bill counters will often reset after a new stack of bills is inserted. If adding mode is enabled, the bill counter will continue counting bills, even when new stacks are put in the machine.
Batch Counting – Many bill counters will batch count. Simply specify the number you need and the bill counter will stop after the desired amount of bills have been counted. This is especially nice when separating stacks of bills.
Dust Cover – Some bill counters have a plastic dust cover that can be closed during the bill counting process. This helps prevent dust from becoming airborne while the machine is active.
Error Detection – If your bill counter has error detection, it will typically let you know if too many bills have been pulled through, if a half note has been detected or if a chain note has been detected.
External Display – Some bill counters offer an included or optional LED display. This is designed to provide customers an easy view of the total number of bills being counted.
Filtration System – Some high-end bill counters come with a filtration system designed to help remove dust found on most bills. This is especially ideal for people with allergies or who may become agitated by an increase of particulates in the air.
Hopper Capacity – The hopper capacity is how many bills the machine can hold. The total number of new bills is usually cut in half when used bills are counted. This means a machine that can handle 200 new bills will usually only be able to handle 100 used bills.

Cleaning & Restoring Glass Lamp Shades

So you have found a wonderful, beautiful, but grimy glass shade. Before you begin cleaning place a nice fluffy terry cloth towel in the bottom of your sink---just in case. And, as this may not be as easy as you thought, some big rubber gloves.

**[Please be aware that these tips can only used on clear or all white glass. If you have glass with a hand-painted or decal decoration don't even try these except for, maybe, Step One.]

Step One: Begin the process by cleaning the surfaces by hand with warm water, sponge and dishing washing liquid soap. (No, not dishwasher soap.) Set it aside and let it drip dry.

If the glass did not come out whistle clean, check out the list below.

* Old price tags marks (Goo Gone, WD40, Rubber Cement Thinner, etc.).
* Paint spots (Goof Off, paint thinner, or a brand new razor blade.)
* Yellowish caste to entire shade (From years of cigarette smoke.) Soak in a diluted solution of ammonia and water, overnight.
Alternate method:
* Or, if you are in a rush, apply the ammonia full strength from a spray bottle---you'll need good ventilation for this---directly on to glass and watch the solidified smoke slowly ooze off.
* Small marks from permanent markers (This is a trial-and-error process): Look under the kitchen sink, in the bathroom, your spouse's workshop for a variety of solvents to try.
* If all else fails, use old-style gritty powdered cleanser and a sponge. Make a paste on a corner of the sponge. Start gently to gauge how hard to rub.
* If you are not ready for the cleanser, rub toothpaste with a Q-Tip with no water, except to rinse.

Note: Any glass with a matte, sand blasted or acid etched surface can be cleaned vigorously with the cleanser method.

GE 6L6GC (6L6) Amplitrex Tested amp amplifier tube

Tube matching is one of the most misunderstood and abused aspects of tube testing. The fact is, a good number of tubes advertised as "matched" really are not matched at all. The problem? a lack of understanding, misinformation, and the use of inadequate test equipment.

Some truths and misconceptions on tube matching:

1/ Are tubes matched if they have the same construction? NO.

About Testing:

Old service testers come in primarily two categories: Emissions and Transconductance (Gm) types.

Examples of the Emissions types are the Sencore Mighty Mite series, some Heathkit and Eico's, and some B&K's, to name a few. These testers are ok for hobby or home use to sort out bad tubes, but nothing more. Some were used in the field as service testers, but I will say no more about them.

Transconductance (Gm) testers such as the TV7's, Hickoks, Jacksons, Triplett, B&K, (there are too many to list here) are service testers designed to give a technician, serviceman or military personel the ability to diagnose problem tubes in circuits and used as an aid in trouble shooting. Transconductance (Gm) is easier to measure than the actual gain (how much a tube is actually amplifying). So transconductance became widely used in service testers, and thus has been generally accepted as a reasonable test for "quality". Only a few are able to measure mA (plate current draw) to match power tubes, but the voltages are far too low to be of any use. But contrary to popular belief, these testers cannot measure the actual output of a tube for the following reasons:

- The ACTUAL output of a tube is measured in "mu" which also called "gain" or "amplification factor".

- To calculate mu, you must multiply the transconductance (or Gm) by the plate resistance (Rp) so "mu = Rp x Gm".

- So, the transconductance (Gm) is related to the mu but it is NOT the actual mu.

- Because of the relationship between Gm and mu, and because it is easier to measure, it was widely accepted as a suitable test for quality.

In the "old" days, tester manufacturers were bound by patent laws and many different approaches were used to measure transconductance. Things got very confusing and manufacturers competed for a technicians business. The end result was that for decades we had little choice but work around the limitations of transconductance. Despite claims of the abilty to match tubes with these testers, the result was that the tubes were not really matched at all. Those old service testers did NOT apply voltages high enough to match those found in everyday circuits and manufacturer tube data sheets! But what they did well was give a very good estimation of tube quality and sorted out gassy and shorted tubes.

Then there are the modern units. New ones such as the Amplitrex, Maxi Preamp and the MaxiMatcher are much more reliable and use "real world" voltages and were designed for tube evaluation suitable for sellers for retail use. The old service testers simply cannot compete with the new technology. Modern testers such as the Amplitrex and MaxiMatcher have changed things. We can now properly match power tubes with the correct tests at the correct voltages.

Power (output) tubes are matched by mA (curent draw), NOT transconductance (Gm). Because this is what matters in a power tube. So why would you match tubes by Gm when it has nothing to do with whether or not a tube will bias properly in you amp?? It really doesn't matter what type of biasing circuit your amp has; The closer the mA, the easier they will match, the better they will sound, and the longer they will last!

For preamp tubes, matching by Mu (gain) is best, because transconductance is NOT the output! (as demonstrated above you must measure the Rp and the Gm to calculate the output). But because transconductance is PART of the picture, it was used to give an indication of tube quality; nothing more, nothing less. So now that we have modern testers such as the Amplitrex and Maxi Preamp to measure the actual Gain (how much the tube is actually amplifying) we now have a better understanding of what the preamp tube is actually doing in the circuit!

There is a school of thought that believes that tube transconductance (gm) "tracks" or follows the mA (plate current) and the gain (output). Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Matching by Gm, even at the right voltages, is simply NOT a reliable way to match tubes!

"So my tubes are properly tested; when are they matched"? Well, that varies with opinions. For power tubes, I think that most agree that mA (plate current) readings should be with 5 - 10% to be considered matched. Phase inverters have a very important role to play in a circuit, and it is probably better to have dual triodes that are strong and balanced for best performance. For other preamp tubes, it really is not that important because biasing is not an issue, but tube gurus with high end gear usually like matches that are very close; it really only matters how "perfect" you want to be. But unmatched preamp tubes are generally not a problem for circuits to handle.

In Summary:

- the old service testers are great for giving an indication of tube quality and finding shorted or gassy tubes. I believe they are fine if you are willing to accept their limitations. Only a very few can test for mA (plate current) but the voltages are far too low to be of any use. None test for tube gain (mu).

- when possible, preamp tubes are best matched by gain (mu) on modern testers such as the Amplitrex or Maxi Preamp.

- Power tubes should only be matched by mA (current draw) at the correct voltages such as on a Maximatcher or Amplitrex. Or buy Factory Matched tubes from a reputable dealer.

- When tested at "real world" voltages on testers such as the Amplitrex or Maxi series, readings are usually lower than those obtained on the old service testers.

- Tubes "matched" on the old service testers usually aren't matched at all when tested at the correct voltages on modern testers such as the Amplitrex.

It is my experience that finding vintage matched power tubes is very difficult and they have become quite rare. You need piles of tubes of the same construction to find actual matches. The odds of that are quite remote. But don't be fooled! I have seen many sellers advertising "matched" tubes because they look the same or have the same codes....Hmmmm....
